The Popular Show Campaign 4 Unveils the Soldiers Party

Since the launch of Campaign 4, fresh DM Brennan Lee Mulligan has kept viewers on edge with rich lore, a colorful mix of heroes, and a gripping narrative including angels, fiends, and sinister influences increasing in influence within Dol-Makjar.

Note: Spoilers for Episode 3 of this adventure are included.

The Soldiers Table Unveiled

The latest chapter finished on a dramatic pause and introduced the initial group of adventurers who will split off from the primary party to embark on their independent quest, apart from the additional parties.

The combat-focused team consists of Teor (portrayed by Travis Willingham), the agile character (Laura Bailey), Tyranny (Whitney), Wicander Halovar (Sam Riegel), and the mysterious adventurer (the actor).

Why Split the Party?

Considering a large ensemble, it was clear from the start that having everyone at the same party would be unfeasible.

This explains, the opening chapters of the new season serve as an Overture, connecting the personal journeys before dividing into three smaller tables: Soldiers, Planners, and Questers.

Characteristics of the Warrior Group

According to the Dungeon Master, the warrior group is for players who are drawn to a traditionally charged combat and conflict-driven gameplay experience where non-violent answers are scarce.

Upon first impression, figures such as the squeamish cleric Wicander might appear out of place, but the developments of the latest installment make it clear why these five characters are perfectly fit for the combat party.

Reasons to Leave

First, the party understands precisely where to head next after a violent initial meeting with the antagonists.

An old friend of the deceased character—whose demise kicked off the story’s plot—exploited the enemy for his personal gain, entering Thjazi’s hideout, assaulting the rogue, and swiping all the enchanted items to sell off.

The traitor then settled his obligations and escaped to a fortified location in Gormalay, Timmony, north of the city, with Teor’s brother pursuing him.

Character Drivers

Secondly, each character has a individual motive to exit the metropolitan area:

  • Thimble, as Thjazi’s partner and closest confidant, desires retribution.
  • Kattigan has experience in the northern area and cautions that it is a nasty location.
  • The warrior and The cleric, having defied his relatives’ demands to execute the fighter and instead rescued him, have nowhere else to go.
  • But, their position as key figures in House Halovar could enable the team enter areas they usually can’t.
  • Furthermore, The fighter swore a eternal obligation to Wicander for his rescue and will now go with him anywhere.

Wanted and Hunted

Lastly, all of them are hunted by the rulers that rule the setting for a variety of reasons, making lingering locally dangerous:

  • The agile adventurer and The hero are known criminals.
  • The strong figure and Wicander defied House Halovar and the legion of demons they are allied with.
  • Teor is marked for death by House Halovar.

This leaves them little choice but to travel to Timmony in quest for the antagonist.

Future Episodes

From the latest episode’s Cooldown, we learn that the combat party won’t be around in the upcoming installment, leaving the remaining eight players to assemble the Explorers and Planners parties.

Audiences can anticipate discovering which characters will be in which group in the story’s final introductory chapter, streaming live on October 24.
